- Hearts of Oak by John Joe Conwell
One of the largest books ever printed by Jaycee with over 600 pages full of black and colour photographs. Produced in both softback and hardback, it charts the history of Portumna GAA Club right up to the highly successful present day All Ireland Club Champions.
It is always strongly recommended to thread sew finish books of this size in order to stand the test of time.
- Divided Loyalties by Dan O Neill
We were delighted to print this book for Dan O Neill, a long time friend of Jaycee. Produced entirely in black and white, the project took only two weeks (from print ready artwork supplied) to print 5000 softback thread-sewn copies. Jaycee also produced 100 case bound copies in black arlin material with gold foiled text on front cover and spine.
- History of Galway Rowing Club by James Casserly
Jaycee took on this book project right from the preliminary typesetting and photo scanning. Produced entirely in purple arlin hardback including a full colour dustjacket, the end result was very satisfying both to Jaycee and to the end customer.
As is often the case for book launches, Jaycee also supply flyers, posters, pull-up banners and point of sale as part of the deal to make the occasion extra special.
- RCC Protected Structures
Jaycee was awarded the tender to reproduce the Roscommon County Development Plan 2008 - 2014. To begin this project, we were able to supply high quality digital preview proofs very quickly to receive sign off before proceeding to full printing. The specifications required Jaycee to finish various area plans and reports with either wiro binding, softback and hardback binding.
Because the full project was digitally printed, Jaycee can now reprint small quantities very efficiently and cost effectively.
- Final Tales of Galway by Peadar O Dowd
This A5 book completes the trilogy of 'Tales of Galway' by Peadar O Dowd. Designed and printed in softback, the project took little over two weeks from start to finish.
Please call Jaycee for information on book and report printing. We will advise you on preparation, paper options, finishing options, timeframes and costs.
- NUIGSU Diary 2008/9
The NUI Galway Students' Union diary with a print run over 10,000 copies was produced in both English and Irish versions. Jaycee printed the A5 size diary on 100gsm uncoated bond suitable for handwriting and finished with black wirobinding for everyday practicality.
- Viking Summer by Mary J Murphy
Viking Summer was produced in the increasingly popular B5 size (170 x 245mm). This size sits between A4 and A5 size and fits very comfortably in your hand. If the page count is below 100 pages, an A4 book can feel flimsy. By reducing the size to B5, the page count increases (the cost per book shouldn't), but the book still looks and feels substantial.
- The McDonnell Family by Mary Burke
With our increasing capabilities in digital printing, we are able to design and print books cost effectively even when the print run is below 100 copies. As a result, we have seen more interest from customers in producing personal memoirs and family histories.
The McDonnell Family History was produced in B5 size with 52 pages and finished in thread-sewn softback binding. The content was printed on a heavier 150g silk which increased the bulk of the book without any significant extra cost incurred. When the print run is relatively low and the page count is fewer than 64 pages it is a good tip to increase the weight of the paper stock.
- Razzle Dazzle by Loughrea Creative Writing Group
Jaycee are delighted to be associated with Razzle Dazzle over the many years. The 2008 version included 232 pages of short stories printed on a crisp 100g white wove with a matt laminated full colour cover and a thread-sewn bound finish.
For all soft cover bound books, we strongly recommend to laminated the cover (gloss or matt) to reduce scratching and soiling and greatly increase it's lifespan.
- The History of Saint Francis Parish by Mary Naughten
The first and only print of this book happened nearly 25 years ago. As most of the original material was unavailable, Jaycee was assigned to reproduce the book as closely as possible to the sample supplied. This involved meticulous typesetting and scanning of the old sample and then providing a digital preview print on carefully selected paper stock to make sure that we were very close to the original version.
Even though this reproduction is printed on advanced digital machinery it still retains the style and charm of the original version.
